Valentina Remonato

Valentina Remonato qualified to practise law at the Court of Appeal of Brescia and joined the Brescia Bar Association in 2017.

She provides legal assistance in matters of civil law, European law, personal data protection and entity liability pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, with a particular focus on compliance and governance.

From 2026 it is funded under the European program StandICT.eu (1st Open Call 2026) with the selected project “Standardising Human Input Space in AI Systems to Safeguard Fundamental Personal Expression”, aimed at developing a principle of necessity for human presence in the input phase of AI systems, within the same CEN/CENELEC JTC 21/WG 1 Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) works. This technical committee, of which it has been a member since 2025, was established by CEN and CENELEC at the request of the European Commission and is committed to the development of European standards for the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AI Act).

In 2023, she joined the Communication and IT Committee of the Brescia Bar Association. In 2018, she obtained the ECPC-B Data Protection Officer certification from Maastricht University. In 2014, she obtained a Master’s degree in Law, following the European and Transnational Track at the University of Trento. During the final period of her university studies, she wrote hundreds of articles for the news and culture pages of Corriere del Trentino, a newspaper of RCS MediaGroup S.p.A.

Her educational background includes numerous courses, including the Winter Courses in International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law (2020) and the course entitled “The European Union, between Integration and Crisis” at the Free University of Berlin, as part of the FUBiS programme.

Among her international experiences are the group prize obtained at the debate organised by the European Association of Data Protection Professionals (EADPP), held in Maastricht in 2019, and the recognition as second-best speaker during the same Oxford-style debate.

She speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
